Snowfall in Tokyo, Japan

Tokyo, the capital city of Japan is one of the cleanest cities in the world. It is also very colorful throughout the year across all four seasons. Usually winters are very cold with temperatures going negative occasionally. But does it snow in Tokyo? if it does, how often is the snowfall?

Many parts of Japan experiences medium to heavy snowfall in an year, especially northern regions encounter heavy snowfall. But snowfall is not a common site in Tokyo. In a typical year it may snow two to three times in an year. When it snows, it is usually wet snow which melts away before it can really stick. So you don't see canopies of snow forming on the ground that often. It is only once in last four years I had seen dense snow here.
